Our foremost concern is for the health of our dogs. Our dogs are tested for genetic defects in eyes and hips. We strive to maintain healthy breeding pairs to the best of our ability. Sires and Dams are chosen for temperament and ability to be versatile in all things a Border Collie does best. Their natural instinct to please and excell at whatever they do means that a heathly robust Border Collie should not have to be bred for a specific purpose. Everything that makes a Border Collie a phenomenal herding dog also makes it a phenomenal flyball dog or a phenomenal agility dog. There is no reason to breed for other activities because it should already be naturally there. There are some wonderful Border Collies out there but it takes an above average pet owner to make that dog what it is. In our society it is often difficult to convince dog owners the value of training. For some reason, countless owners believe the dog will train itself. The only way to have a smart well behaved Border Collie is through owners who are committed to providing a stimulating environment for the dog. They do not need just flat out energy burning excersise like running with another dog, they require mind stimulating games as well. Structured thought provoking activities can be done without the dog leaving the house. The dog needs to be mentally and physically entertained.
